About the case

Palácio dos Bandeirantes is the headquarters building of the Government of the State of São Paulo and the official residence of the governor. Located in the Morumbi district, in the city of São Paulo, the palace also houses the Civil and Military Houses, some state secretariats and a wide historical and artistic collection open to public visitation.

It became a cultural center in 1970, under the government of Abreu Sodré, with the initiative to bring together a collection of furniture, paintings and objects. A commission was created with names such as Paulo Mendes de Almeida, Oswald de Andrade, Sílvia Sodré Assunção, Pedro Antonio de Oliveira Neto and Marcelo Ciampolinni, to acquire the works of art that currently make up the Artistic-Cultural Collection of the Government Palaces.
